The torque converter and the hydraulic clutch are two crucial components in the forklift transmission system, each serving distinct functions based on different principles of operation.

The torque converter consists of a pump wheel, turbine, and stator, utilizing hydraulic fluid to transmit torque and enabling variable torque multiplication, speed variation, and clutching without a physical mechanical connection. In contrast, the hydraulic clutch is another essential part responsible for controlling power transmission between the engine and the transmission system.
